For instance, if your band size is 36 inches, and your cup size measurement is 37 inches, the difference between the two is one inch. This means that your cup size is an “A”. If your band size measurement is 36 inches, and your bust size measurement is 39 inches, the difference is three inches. This means that your cup size is a “C”. Similarly, if the result is 4 inches, this means that your cup size is a “D” and so on. Any result that is less than one inch is a double “A” (AA). On the other hand, 5 inches is considered a double “D” depicted as (DD).

One thing to remember is that this is supposed to help you get a quick idea of what bra size you should try out first. However, the fit is more important than the reading on the tape measure. As women are all different in their size, two women of the same bra size using a tape measure may need different actual bra sizes.
